Nationally, only 63% of students with disabilities graduated high school in 2014. Possible causes are lowered expectations of students with disabilities starting in primary school, especially when coupled with high standards and competencies required for high school graduation.

In March, long-time community partner Bonne Bell closed its Westlake operation. And with that closing, a West Shore community-based training program lost its workplace training location. As a temporary solution, RaeAnn Suburban Nursing Facility, which already partners with West Shore, graciously offered to provide a location to complete the school year. However, West Shore administrators knew they needed to find a new partner to continue to provide diverse work site experiences for students.
